“May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out.” J.R.R. Tolkien

Lights at Christmastime are essential. It only seems fitting that in the time we are celebrating the entrance of the Light of the World into this dark world that we should celebrate with lights.

On the tree, in advent wreathes in store windows and on the front of houses.

In these cold dark days of winter they fill homes and hearts with warmth and light. Ultimately they point back to the One who is Light and remind us to so let our light shine before men.

When it comes to exterior lighting some say we outdo ourselves. Maybe so. But they bring us and others so much joy (you wouldn't believe the feedback from the neighbors) and hopefully, even if in a small way, point back to The Light of the World.

Every evening during advent if you were drive by my home after dark and before 8/9/10ish (at which time we set them steady) you would see...

Well, instead of trying to describe what you would see how about I show you?

There you have it.

Happy Christmas.
